Hey everyone! I’m Jeff Orr, MayeCreate’s newest addition as a design intern. I am an aspiring web developer with a passion for functional and creative websites and apps. From a young age I have had an entrepreneurial spirit, and more recently, have found a love for the field of technology. Working for a creative agency that creates websites with the goals and values of clients in mind to propel their business forward is a great mix of what I truly care about. Needless to say, I can’t wait for what’s in store for me here at MayeCreate.
In ‘95, I was born in sunny Sacramento, California and moved to St. Louis when I was six. Growing up in St. Louis, I spent a lot of time at my family farm, working and experiencing the great outdoors. Summers were spent in California visiting family and camping in the redwood forests. This blend of the outdoors, hard work and family is what made me who I am today.
Stuff I Do Now
At the University of Missouri-Columbia, I study Strategic Communication and Computer Science. I am an animal lover and spend my free time climbing rocks, hiking, going to concerts and hanging out with my awesome friends. Last year, I helped start an organization at Mizzou called Greeks Go Green. Our mission is to facilitate recycling in all Greek houses on campus. While there’s much work to be done, starting this organization is something I am very proud of.
It amazes me to see the progression of not just myself, but the people I am close with, throughout their college career. I know personally that I am so much different now than I was when I first got to Mizzou two years ago. I truly cannot imagine how the next two years will effect me, but I can hope that upon graduating I will have the skills to pursue a fulfilling career in the tech field. While I cannot say for certain what I will be doing in the future, I know that my time as an undergrad will prepare me well for whatever it is I decide.
